US Soccer C Course Registration Open

Registration is open for the US Club Soccer-hosted U.S. Soccer C course in Massachusetts. 

Weymouth, MA | April 18-September 5; in-person August 4-7

Registration  for the Weymouth Course is open for NEP Member Coaches members. Priority registration will be available until the end of day on Monday, January 31, 2022. Ask your club director for link!

On February 1, 2022 the course link will be made public. Course registration will be on a first come, first serve basis. US Club Soccer members are asked to register as soon as possible to secure their spot in the course.

Eligibility Requirements:

In order to register for the 9v9 Course, candidates must be at least 16 years old* and have completed U.S. Soccer’s Introduction to Grassroots Coaching module. This module can be accessed here: https://learning.ussoccer.com/coach/courses/available/16/details/1546

*Due to online privacy laws, individuals under the age of 16 cannot create Learning Center (LC) profiles, and thus are unable to take Grassroots Courses. 

Course Details:

The 9v9 Course is a four-hour course that builds on the principles covered in U.S. Soccer’s Introduction to Grassroots Coaching Module. Specifically, coaches will learn more about U.S. Soccer’s Grassroots Coaching Education Philosophy, Play-Practice-Play Methodology, the Six Tasks of a Coach, and the characteristics of players aged 11-12. The course will also ask each coach to reflect on their experiences to develop action steps for personal growth in the Six Tasks (Coaching Games, Coaching Training Sessions, Leading the Team, Leading the Player, Managing the Performance Environment, and Leadership).​

Coaches will be asked to participate in discussions so each person should have access to a web-camera/live video capabilities.  Coaches may be asked to participate in the field component as either coaches or players, so please come prepared to actively learn.

Cancellation/Refund policy:

A candidate seeking to withdraw from the course must do so by emailing coacheducation@usclubsoccer.org. Once a candidate registers for the course, the hosting association has made proper arrangements for instructors, classroom/field space, & materials to accommodate that candidate. If a candidate cancels at least 2 weeks prior to the first day of the course, he or she may receive a full refund. If the candidate fails to cancel at least 2 weeks prior to the course, only attends a portion of the course, or does not show up for the course, the entire course fee is forfeited. By registering for this course, you acknowledge that you understand and agree to the course policies regarding course assignments, attendance, registration fees, and refunds.

USSF Coach Support Documents

To best support our NEP coaches, team managers and clubs and families please take note of the following USSF Coach / Player support documents.  These documents are part of the USSF Grassroots courses (4v4, 7v7, 9v9, 11v11 & D License).  These are helpful guidelines for our coaches to utilize to ensure that they are supporting our developing players and maximizing our competitive seasonal play!

Coaching License Pathway Information

Understanding the pathways to further coach education and licensure can sometimes be challenging to understand due to the variety of coaching licenses, badges and diplomas both here in the United States but also abroad.  Below are some helpful guides for our NEP coaches to follow!

To register for the U.S. Soccer D Course, candidates must meet the following prerequisites:

  • Introduction to Grassroots Coaching
  • 11v11 Grassroots In-Person
  • One (1) Additional Grassroots In-Person (4v4, 7v7, or 9v9)
  • One (1) Grassroots Online (4v4, 7v7, 9v9, or 11v11)

or

  • Introduction to Grassroots Coaching
  • Previously Earned USSF E License

or

  • Introduction to Grassroots Coaching
  • Previously Earned USSF F License
  • 11v11 Grassroots In-Person
  • One (1) Additional Grassroots In-Person (4v4, 7v7 or 9v9)
